Thailand is preparing for a potential outbreak of the Omicron Covid-19 variant, —with plans to revive the home isolation programme. The normally optimistic Tourism Authority of Thailand is feeling slightly more downbeat amid concerns about a potential Omicron outbreak. The southern island of Phuket is getting ready to welcome renowned Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, who will help to ring in 2022 at the Saphan Hin public park.

Thailand is a few months behind the eight ball with Omicron. Perhaps it's time to look to what's happening in South Africa, where is was first discovered and identified.....

I wish more countries would.  It shows that there will not be any hospital surge and the the wave will probably burn itself out within about a month.  The UK is probably peaking right about now and hospitalizations are still quite low and only up slightly in the past couple weeks, even though about 200,000 people are testing positive daily.
