News Forum - US health officials confirm Omicron now the dominant variant

Recommended Posts

Health officials in the US say the highly-contagious Omicron mutation is now the dominant Covid-19 variant in the country. According to an AFP report, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says Omicron now accounts for 73.2% of new infections in the last week for which data is available. In the week prior to that, the variant accounted for just 12.6% of new cases. Across the country, hospitals are becoming busier, long lines form outside testing centres, and entertainment and sporting events are being cancelled. The variant already accounts for over 90% of new infections in the Pacific Northwest region […]

More dominant but not more severe illnesses/deaths... But still covid, and will most likely kill more unvaccinated than vaccinated (as has been the trend). Seems people are now more willing than ever to accept that risk. Pity the hospital workers who are being overwhelmed.

You mean those hospitals firing nurses and doctors refusing to take the jabs? Wonder why they are refusing.  They are the front line workers after all, not some random Youtube video watchers. Maybe they experienced and saw something they do not like at all, willing to risk getting fired.

The 'dominant variant' so what? You either get ill or you dont. More sensationalism than before. Whoopty do. Has the public attitude changed? No?

The populations obviously remain numb.

Nothing to see behind the curtain.

Completely unfounded observations. The vaccinated are the ones getting Covid. In fact the unvaccinated who have had a previous bout of Covid, and many have as the mortailty rate is actually quite low, have the greatest immunity.

This is now an epidemic of the unvaccinated. The data come from actual hospital systems bears this out. Completely founded.

Great! The very very very mild virus is becoming the dominant variant!

Now let's stop talking about Covid, because that'd be equal to reporting everyone who has got the cold a few years back.

Btw, the reason that the numbers of Covid look so high compared to the flu, is because literally every case gets reported now, compared to the flu years back.

If you would know the true number of normal flu cases which were never reported, you would be shocked, because they might be just equal to the Covid cases. Only never reported, because not everyone who has the flu goes to the doctor.

Oh, you found an old chart almost covering the early days of September! Good job, trainee! 🤣 This is the pandemic of the vaccinated, according to newer data or at least the pandemic of both.

So you are not smart enought to look at the trend lines 🤣 got it.

Sorry, I'm only responsible for what I say, not what your small mind is capable of understanding.
