Finance minister says 4% growth next year, Siam Commercial Bank Economic Intelligence Center responded by downgrading their prediction for next year from 3.4% to 3.2%

Only a difference of some 20%.

Think I'll go with the Siam Commercial Center, (plus a point or two less) -think the Finance minister is still using the TAT calculator.

When hasn't the THA economy relied in tourism. Therein lies the rub. Without real change Thailand will always be cursed to suffer from an over reliance on tourism, and in this day of age, is one covid variant away from suffering even longer. Seems like a projection of a full recovery in 2023 is based on the assumption we are currently exiting the pandemic. Not sure that's a safe bet.

Hope springs eternal .. only to be dashed on the rocks of reality .. 2023 is too far away to be making claims like this when at the mo' it's a step forward , then a step back for everyone ..

"Dumping a trillion baht into the economy"

That money has to be paid for somewhere along the line

Exactly.  All the money printing across the globe is going to lead to a much worse global economic collapse than 2008.  Inflation is going to be insane. Sad how these government economists push BS on to the masses.

The Bank of Thailand gold buying is the largest short-term gold accumulation operation by any central bank in 2021. They bought 90 tonnes in 2 months alone. Speaks volumes.
