There's no requirement for a coffee shop or the wi-fi from said coffee shop.

As I mentioned previously, with hotspots and 4G routers you could work from the top of a mountain so long as you've got a signal! 

That's fine and I'm sure you are paying for the signal.

And the water I drink, the roof over my head, the gas I use....

Until Thailand's labor laws change, I'd be reluctant to raise my hand as a "digital nomad"... as with most things in Thailand, not a lot of thought goes into the original idea, only to then later change, making the entire implementation a donkey-roast.

Govt should offer 500 baht for each successful referral for maximum effect.
