Removed Africa Continent from Sandbox!

I only see talks about the banned 8 countries in Africa like other countries banning the same number, but Thailand actually removed the full continent from the sandbox program! and i don't understand why!! many countries are way far away (thousands of miles away) from the countries affected  with no cases so why remove the full continent i wish to understand why its actually allowing some countries that the virus showed up without any problems, so i really dont get it! is it politics or what is the idea?

Of course it's 99.9% politics. Stats like this make making coarse decisions almost a no-brainer:

Because many people from those eight southern african countries were circumventing the ban on flights from there by flying to elsewhere in Africa before flying on out of Africa, typically from Cairo.
