Don’t worry… Thailand’s Tourism and Sports Minister says everything is under control (as the government always says) and Omicron has not been detected in the country. Minister Phiphat Ratchakit Prakarn says the Public Health Ministry is keeping track of all tourists from high-risk countries, including the 330 tourists from eight African countries with a high risk of Omicron variant. The minister said they all are admitted to a 14 day quarantine and will be subject to three RT-PCR tests. Between November 15 and 27, 252 tourists arrived under Thailand’s sandbox scheme and 78 under the quarantine scheme. “We are still […]

He Looks and sounds very similar to that minister,  that said 'there's no problem with sea food' after a covid outbreak in samut prakan, as he tucked into a juicy prawn, then not seen again after spending weeks in the ICU on a ventilator!

Even if it enters Thailand, we still don't need to worry as all the reports said that it's very very mild.

Unlike the news who are posting titles like OMICRON, the destroyer of the world is here and spreads FAST AS LIGHTNING!!!!!!! It's a very HIGH RISK!!!!

In the meanwhile Omicron is just:

Omicron🙂

“We are still able to keep it under control.”

He's obviously been training to be a stand-up comedian.

Have you heard the one about the virus that thought it could outwit a cabinet-full of generals . . . it did, three times and counting! 🤣       It's the way ya tellum!

I’m afraid it’s very nieve to think it’s not already there and if it isn’t, it most certainly will be in the near future. Hopefully, whilst being much more transmissible it will turn out to be a more mild strain and Covid 19’s first step (mutation) to becoming endemic.

Oh Dear... contrast this with the PM's guarantee that he will shut everything down if Omicron comes to Thailand....

Possibility in the next 2 weeks, it's already in Japan & South Korea now.

The government is restricting travel from some countries in Africa.  Terrific.  Yes, it was first reported in Africa but evidence shows Omicron was present in the EU before it was reported in Africa.  So why no restrictions on travel from the EU?  So glad a sports minister is the go-to guy on this...

Do you mean the reactions from Thailand and the whole World are "irrational"? It has been pretty much the mood from the start really... I am seriously starting to wonder if that will ever end, irrational fear, vaccinating the whole world, healthy young people, teenagers, kids, babies as soon as they are born (sure, why not?), 3 times, 4 times, for this variant, for that variant, for the next variant that is "believed" to be coming soon, all this with products that NOBODY knows the effects in the long term, on and on and on and on... while our basic freedoms (freedom of movment for a start) previous to THAT pandemic are still not coming back, you are not consider a human being anymore but a QR code, better be in your best behaviour otherwise it will show in your QR code and your freedom will be restricted further for "bad" behavior... When science-fiction becomes reality... we have never been so close than this to happen. I wonder what Georges Orwell or Aldous Huxley would write if they were still alive. But nothing to fear really, our governments, wether if ran by the army, by a "democratically" elected president or prime minister, by a king or a queen, by a religious leader, etc... are taking care of our healths, even if you did not ask for it, even if you do not want to, you must have unconditional faith and trust and if you do not have complete faith and trust, well then your only last option is to shut up. What a wonderful "new normal" world.
