33 coronavirus-related deaths were reported by the CCSA today, raising the pandemic’s death toll in Thailand to 20,847 with 20,753 of those fatalities during the latest wave, which was first recorded on April 1. In the 24-hour period since the last count, the CCSA recorded 4,971 new Covid-19 cases and 5,402 recoveries. There are now 73,726 people in Thailand being treated for Covid-19. Walk-ins for 2 x Pfizer, and a few with 2 x Moderna, across a lot of Issan this week - locally in Loei, Chumphae, Udon and Khon Kaen, and walk-ins for a 3rd / booster of Moderna or Pfizer subject to a long enough period after the second dose.

Packed out, unsurprisingly, but with few takers for 2 x AZ  and even fewer for the 1 x Sinovac / 1 x AZ combo.

Many who missed out in one province / district took the opportunity to go 'next door', and the staff were as efficient as ever. 'Oldies' were allowed to go to the front of the queue and for most the process took around one and a half to two hours, including the half hour wait afterwards with blood pressure and heart rate checked both before vaccination and before leaving.

The only really sad downside is that this wasn't being done six or nine months ago as it could and should have been, but things are at least looking positive.
