Thailand is to get tough on people smugglers, according to deputy PM Prawit Wongsuwon in a Bangkok Post report today. The government aims to upgrade the country’s 2022 ranking in the US Trafficking in Persons Report, after being downgraded to the Tier 2 Watchlist in this year’s report. Being given a Tier 2 Watchlist ranking means a government is deemed to not be in full compliance with minimum standards, but is making significant efforts. at thanksgiving dinner one year at my sisters house with her very far left female friends I was asked what is it like to live in Thailand? without skipping a beat I said in a completely serious way "It's great. I have my own death camp near the Myanmar border. It's a short drive from my house." 

later one of the husbands pulled me aside and asked me what it was really like living in Thailand. He looked so miserable i did not have the heart to tell him.

Suppose we will see a lot of "fall guys" going to jail and the true criminals just continue on.  No change.

Good decision as that could be the start of ending his marriage to your sister. He might get addicted to going to all of the temples and never go back to the USA..

I would love to read a story about some miserable goings-on that were being stopped simply because it was the right thing to do, and not for some extraneous self-enriching crap.

Human Trafficking is a vile, horrid criminal exercise that uses people like they were animals, or worse. Is that not reason enough to put an end to it?
