Yes. Restrictions becoming fewer lol. Me as a tourist, in a street bar seeing 20 armed cops raiding the streets with cars, bikes, doing “like a bosss” walks, throwing out tourists. It feels worst that communist china. All of them looking at me like I am some dirty animal for being out at 11. Next time I will record it and make a nice toutube video to share inder every article saying FRIENDLY THAILAND OPENS, come tourist, we like you lol

Nobody gets thown out of the bar in 'communist China' at 11 o'clock. You're probably mistaking it for progressive England.

Or maybe he's mistaking it for "The Land of the Free" (America), where you are not even "free" to enjoy a bottled beer in the street, or where you need to be 21 to "freely" have a drink...

Do either of those happen in China @Poolie? Cuz I remember late night walks with friends in China discussing something with a beer in our hands, nobody ever said anything :P

Unlike US bars I have not seen any bouncers at the door or inside Thai drinking establishments. I have seen drunk foreigners all congregating at one location stumbling around at closing time and causing a ruckus in groups. So I personally am 100% behind Boss Thai police doing their job and keeping intoxicated Farang from harming others or other's property. I like a drink same as the next guy that being said I "try" not to get too blitzed in public because this is not home turf, I don't speak the language, and don't know anyone. So getting in a spot of trouble is not going to be looked upon with sympathy or forgiveness imho. What do you think would happen if a dozen drunk Thai guys were standing around inside a pub or bar yelling, carousing, and being a general noisy nuisance? My guess is some "armed" law enforcement or security staff would escort them out of the property just as Thai police are doing per your observation and "complaint". I'm not sure but do you think friendly means watching a bunch of drunks at the pub acting like 250# monkeys and not herding them away? Anybody with half a brain knows that is when the trouble starts. The more I read what you wrote the worse I feel for Thailand for putting up with blokes like you. Where exactly does this entitlement you feel come from? No wonder you all go to the same drinking spots. No one else would put up with you people but yourselves.

Getting blotto in public places has never been a favoutite.  Go out have a few get a six pack (?) and head home.

You know where you are, (crapper mainly), you can have a technicolour yawn without the ensuing embarrassment.  Save face, this is Thailand.

Plus you wake up NOT thinking "hell what happened", why do they want to put me on a plane out of here?

Or worse, why do I need a lawyer?

It was a load of B.B. BS. Was down in BBK week before last for three nights. 'Roaring back to life' it most certainly wasn't. Korat was more lively

Or Karon on a wet Monday perhaps ..😂

Haven't been near the place in 7 years and hopefully I'll never see the place again. I was never a fan of the dirt, the noise, the pollution and the scams.

Curious as to what you are doing reading and commenting on a Thailand news message board if you have no interest in ever seeing Thailand again.
