The Public Health Ministry has reportedly drafted measures for reopening bars and nightclubs in 17 provinces next month and will make a proposal to the CCSA. While entertainment venues nationwide are planned to reopen by mid-January, according to a report in Thai media, the ministry is proposing to open bars in “blue” zones a month earlier on December 16, but under tight restrictions. Under the measures proposed by the Public Health Ministry, customers entering the bars and nightclubs will need to present proof of vaccination or a negative result from an antigen Covid-19 test. Sad that it has to get this way but measures taken while reopening venues is the way to go for now. Having inexpensive test kits that are effective in measurement will help a lot. Even if somebody doesn't show symptoms test anyway.

Full Lock downs will lessen the numbers infected but life must go on. I'm for opening up services and outlets but maintain discipline. So many around the world have suffered from irresponsible folk that once this was done and simply because they thought that Covid19 is longer a threat.

We must all now learn to live with the pandemic and fight it at the same time. Either extreme will cause harm. Middle road needed. But unfortunately returning to a sensible norm is difficult as not all are sensible.

Exactly and what I found very strange there a dying every year so many from air pollution or what is with all the people who die with cancer? They are so fixated on covid, why we not hear anything on these cases? And in the end it will be like with all other diseases in the past we have to live with it. Some also forgot how many death we have each year with flu even we have vaccines but it is astouning there is no outcry about that fact. It seems the new normal is that people lost their sense for reality instead of the sense of smell and taste.

The Junta sure does not want any tourists to come? Certainly not the unelected soldier who is posing as a PM.

If he did want tourists, all it would be required would be to get rid of these insurance and hospital scams etc, and open the bars and clubs, which would attract tourists and allow people to get their livelihoods back.

If they are waiting for the pandemic to go away, then that is just not going to happen, everyone has just got to learn to live with it.

And then after Covid and how the powers that be handled their selfish Covid vaccine grab here, we all are left with a sour and bitter one.

How Many People Die of Cancer a Year? (webmd.com)

In 2018, an estimated 9.5 million people died of cancer worldwide. That’s about 26,000 people each day and 1 out of every 6 deaths.

Thought I'd help you out, sorry not really current being 2018 but best I could do for you.  😀

Not an attack on your posts, but how many say about cancer etc. "Oh well, lots of causes of death, so just live with it and let it rip?" But for Covid that's their argument and justified because otherwise they can't get a drink? Really? 🤔

They want really saves life then they should use the resources for the people and groups in high risk! Sorry but thats a fact otherwise it is pure nonsense. If they not change that they will kill more people with their way and destroy entire economies and country. What resources will be left also for the mental health issues they are creating, entire generations who kicked out of their lifes (education, jobs). Where will be the resources for other diseases, viruses etc then? How you wanna handle all the covid psychos after? Ect ect. It is absolute a big lie and a fake to tell the people a zero covid is possible just a reminder to you in countries like Germany they have up to 25 000 flu death even they have vaccines but nobody was telling the lies about a zero flu death or making maniac actions and locked down the whole country about that. They want save lifes and more progress in the fight against then they to start have to conentrate on the people and groups at high risk and use wisly the resources on that. There are now enough long term studies which people or groups are at risk for serious covid complications! But to go on the same path will make the opposite, more damage and mor victims! Thats a fact.

similar figure for annual hunger deaths including circa 3 million aged under 5.

covid thai dead around 20,000 after 18 months ? 90% estimated aged over 70 ?

thai roads deaths continuing at around 22,000 yearly completely unaddressed ( Banning Small Mopeds would prevent 75% such deaths….)😪

The zero covid meassure countries failed and made more victims. The viruses always found their ways especially in China

You really think this should be a solution or will in any way stop the virus instead of conentrating on the people at risk?

But gents, when the waves went up, we had restrictions and lockdowns and they brought the R-rate down again and it curbed the numbers.

We have "only" 5 million deaths because of how we reacted with restrictions and because of early availability of vaccines. If you let the virus rip, numbers will shoot up.

And lifting restrictions somewhere has an effect around the globe. The situation with vaccination here isn't great, but there are even worse places where the virus will be exported to because of one countries choice.

What if Africa said "to hell with it, let the new variant just spread"?

Does everybody only think of themselves now? For a drink in a bar? Or because of business?

Thank you Stardust.

SA NU Variant appears ominous….let’s all optimize our health / immune systems by vax, cutting junk body intakes ,HIIT exercise, steady slow weight loss and plenty of sleep / relax/ water……stay alive & well for yourself & loved / dependent ones…

We should not fix the things on the bars it will lead to nowhere it is about strategies and resources. We have to concentrate at which people the viris could make the biggest impact like we do at flu, cancer etc. Otherwise people not see any more the forest because of all the trees. You want a effective battle then you have to concentrate on the impacts and use the resources for that. Otherwise we can say, ok we take a nuclear bomb and the virus is dead, too.

Mostly agreed, but the topic was "bars".
