A 33 year old man in Ubon Ratchathani was arrested today by the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau for allegedly hacking the Constitutional Court website on Wednesday. The man was arrested at his home in Warin Chamrab district of the Northeastern province after an investigation by the CCIB. The CCIB started an investigation immediately after the hack was reported by the Constitutional Court. Police tracked down the website hacker by tracing the IP number that accessed the Court website, following it to a house in the Saensook sub-district. Yeah, I don’t believe that someone with the skills needed to hack the Constitutional Court website wouldn’t, at a minimum, use a VPN or hack from a remote host. It definitely wouldn’t be the first time someone, somewhere in the world tried to penetrate or deface that website so the web hosting provider would need to have high security. I’d bet money he was grassed up, probably by a mole in the protestors group or an associate. Then again, stupid is as stupid does on all sides.

Amateur hacker gets into website of Thailand Constitutional Court, causing enough damage/problems that the matter is investigated and the hacker tracked down.  Think any information held by any Thai Government organisation is safe and secure - you are wrong - very wrong.  Yet another reason to bypass the current Thailand Pass system whereby they keep very personal information centralised and it is available to other agencies (no matter what they say) and they mandate a tracking app for all tourists (like China).

Don't trust Lazada either, with all the dildos and sex toys on that massive site the government can easily access it and find out who the real wa$$$ers are

On a more serious note, many people are unaware of the 'control' that the Junta is imposing on the social media and on-line companies - they are very much going in the direction of China.  Recently, LinkedIn finally pulled out of China because of the new Govt impositions (information access they have to provide when required) - they were the last of the global social media companies in China.  Recently Paypal has 'announced' it is restarting in Thailand - lies - they have 'sold out' to a local Thai company that has agreed to fully comply with the Thailand information/security laws. The Paypal global company is taking the franchise fee and staying out - like all the others.

"A hacking offence carries a punishment of up to 40,00 baht in fines and between 6 months and 2 years in prison. But if the man is convicted and the court finds that damage was caused by his actions, he could face up to 5 years in prison and up to 100,000 baht in fines."
