Anyone getting a bad case of them right now?

What do you take to reduce symptoms?

Ironically one of the best preventative measures is being used now. Namely face masks.

The mold spores in the wet seasons drier days and  pollen in the dry season are inhalated. If the allergy is particularly bad Zyrtec works well in treating the symptoms.

If really bad then pulmonary specialists have recommend a better treatment.

Never had seasonal allergies myself but feel sympathy for those that do.

This morning up here the temp dropped down to 21 C so my seasonal allergy started -  how many others suffer the same as me from " Goosebumps" 😉

Now seriously, many around here during the times when the rice is shaken  are wearing face masks now as @mickkotlarski made mention off. Previous years the dust given off during that time in the immediate vicinity of the machine was prone to making  people sneeze, so something as simple as mask wearing is something we can actually thank covid for.

It may sound strange Gummy but the clear face shields are cheap and can help.

Years ago when herbbing through the Thai countryside by motorbike I asked a farm girl why they rag up over their heads and faces when working rice fields even on hot days. She actually said some folk (pae agart) in other words suffered allergies.

You mentioned the temperature dropping in your neck of the woods and this initial drop is when many people suffer the most. Harvesters help farming communities but are notorious for stirring up  unwanted elements in the atmosphere.

An often ignored aspect of air born allergy particles is similar in effect to viral infection in that the eyes are a point of invasion in that they drain into the nasal passages. People who suffer extreme allergic reactions to a variety of air born agents often resort to eye ware of glasses or sealed goggles in effect . That in conjunction with rubber face masks that have cartridge filters . In extreme cases even what amounts to a space suit helmet .

I read that anti-allergy face masks took off in Japan for this reason (supposed to be slightly different, not exactly how).

This was post SARS but pre COVID when this supposedly happened.
