Helsinki is one of my favourite airports for cleanliness. In the days when I had to go back to the UK often on business Finnair was one of my favourites. Loved a night or two in Helsinki, but guess it helped I had a Finnish friend.

I did notice though that the staff whilst very helpful really didn't look too happy with life, then my mate told me it has one of the highest suicide rates in the world ??!!  Yet when you fly over it, it looks beautiful and the wimin are certainly up there in the lookers stakes from what I've seen! Maybe it's them that are topping themselves as the blokes didn't look too impressive lol

Many years ago, and I mean many, my wife at the time befriended 2 Finnish girls at the company she worked for. Bloody hell, thought I could drink but a bottle of Vodka for them was just a loosener.  They had one of the highest rates of alcoholism in the world at that time, not sure if they still do which may account for the suicides.

Yep I think that's the same for all scandi countries - decades ago I went to Sweden and the price of a pint was nearly a days wages !! God knows how they can afford to get drunk.

I think the relentless darkness doesn't help either
