News Forum - Khao San Road expects very slow recovery, even after reopening

Recommended Posts

Yes Sure its tourist backpacker based but in last few years becane a more trendy young thai hangout

The whole phra nakon area is /was based on backpackers with literally 100s of small hotels guesthouses

I am sure it will recover but i suspect goverment plans to gentrify the whole area are the biggest hindrance

The epitome of this forum.....

A guy lists the positives and one of the happy fellas breaks it down to counter with a negative for each one! 5555

You can't teach that kind of miserableness..........that is honed over decades of unhappiness   :)

The idea of a forum, in case you are clueless, is to list YOUR OWN OPINION.

Do you understand that?

MY OPINION, which belongs to me and NOT TO YOU, is that there is nothing there for ME.

Sure, when I first visited in 1984, it was a cool experience the first time.

Fast forward, it is nothing at all like it use to be and nothing there for ME!

You have a bad, bad habit of jumping in on ALL posts that you do not agree with.

You seem to have a bad habit of justifying yourself, to yourself.

Very negative, trying to defend yourself against other's opinions.

Were you in Thailand in 1984 and visited Khao San Road?

I suspect if you were, you wouldn't have replied because you would know the answer for yourself.

PS that was long before you could find a McDonalds, Burger King, Carl's Jr, Hooters splattered all over the place.

When darkness approached, Suk Road/Soi 4 use to come alive with street vendors, food stalls, people having a great time. Now it is overcome with US fast food.

So the place absolutely has changed.
