Thai truckers are set to go on strike on Monday as part of a campaign to have diesel prices capped at 25 baht per litre for one year. As reported by Thai PBS World, the strike – which will coincide with Thailand’s reopening on November 1 – will span about 80,000 trucks, including some tour buses. It's a mute point that without trucks and truck drivers...Thailand stops! I have observed the rise in petrol/diesel prices in my own country. Petroleum companies can try to grap profits, but it only stings them in the tail. 

The government are very unlikely to cut duty on Diesel fuel by over 5 baht a litre costing them billions of baht that could be otherwise diverted to their off shore retirement fund. Definitely a interesting situation looming...
