Thailand surely doesn’t fall short of featuring some of the most beautiful temples in the world. As Buddhism is the main religion practised by Thais, visiting temples is part of the culture. But, you don’t have to be a Buddhist to appreciate the stunning architecture and innate details adorning the temples. Travellers also find the temples to be a great photo opportunity and a serene experience. Surprising, don’t know how the Phetchabun temple got in there. Not even 20 years old, not especially significant. Top 100 maybe, but top 5? Maybe tne writer used to live nearby ??

I suspect the author is young or not terribly knowledgeable about Thai history.

Wat Pha Son Kaew has become rather fashionable and trendy of late, perhaps because of it's breathtaking views and visionary design.....but certainly does lack the significance and historic presence that numerous wats have secured.

In defence, if one has ever had the opportunity to take the place in, it does have it's moments. But not top 5. Top 100 easy.

I never visit Temples.  I find them over blown and irritating.  The Temples hide billions of Baht, while the poor suffer.  They did next to nothing during Covid and sponge off the local community each day for food and so called 'merit'.  Each one I see disgusts me more than the last one.

Yeah, I see what you mean about that. I hadn’t considered that angle. Makes sense. I’m not a massive temple fan, but I’ll stop and visit one if I’m on the road. The architecture I just find interesting.

Hi,
Thailand is home to a bunch of stunning temples, each with its own unique vibe and story. Here are five must-visit temples you shouldn't miss:

Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) - Bangkok
Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) - Bangkok
Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha) - Bangkok
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep - Chiang Mai
Wat Rong Khun (White Temple) - Chiang Rai
These temples are not just about the spiritual experience; they offer a deep dive into Thailand's rich culture and history. Plus, you'll get to soak in some incredible art and architecture. So, get ready to explore, reflect, and snap some amazing photos along the way!
