A weird one, but real.

Recommended Posts

This is not a joke post, but I hope, not really serious either.

I wear my watch on my left wrist, nothing on my right, but recently my right wrist feels like I have a heavy bracelet or a tight watch on it. It's very pronounced, not painful or uncomfortable, just feels very strange. The feeling is there all the time.

Dr. Google came up blank. Am not particulary worried but am very puzzled. Anyone heard of this?

Thanks

Waits for all the 'wrist' jokes.

My guess

A pinched nerve of sorts radiating down into your wrist

And the way you are moving your wrist in your everyday movements is excaberrating it.

I have a chronically shitty neck

You would be surprised at how much everything is connected

Just my hunch

It often seems a good idea to just ask a forum, however for medical issues its is simply best to consult with a medical professional.

There could be a myriad of reasons why you are feeling this. I would suggest that few would be qualified to diagnose online what you are feeling and even then probably would need a lot more personal information than you can supply on a Forum visible to others!

Hope it feels better soon!

Thank you I agree 100%. I figured this was a bit unusual and made me wonder if anyone had heard of it.

Believe me after almost 2 years of not onsulting with a doctor on cardio and endocrine conditions I will be adding it to my list. Appointments are overdue.

I am not worried about this (despite the expected comments above), just curious.

As soon as I see some believable covid numbers I will be off to a decent hospital in Bangkok or Pattaya, there is really no facility here, closest is 5 hours to Bangkok.

Thanks for your reply.

I don't think it is the watch. Maybe limit your daily activities.

Seriously could be from using a mouse on the computer or using your telephone too much.

The problem is my wrist with no watch feels like it has one on.

I felt it could be extensive use over the years of a mouse and keyboard, as I worked in IT for almost 40 years, and yes, phones come into it now too. Possible warning of repetitive strain injury, but no pain yet.

Wife tells me so far her wrists are ok.

My real guess is the phone and mouse. Some days my wrists are ok and other days feel heavy. Maybe try adjusting the position of your wrist-s when using those items.

Me and the wife use mobile phone car holders when in bed. Takes a lot of strain of the wrists.

Never had a motorbike of any kind but I can see that would do it.

Pushups lol. I exercise but not strenuously as in pushups. Never know when you are serious or just being the master of double entendre :)

Try holding your arm above your head for 10 minutes, do this a few times a day. Quite possibly, it's fluid retention, & this might help.

Are your ankles swollen?

Any pain, numbness or tingling in your arm?

Thanks for the suggestions.

My ankles are generally swolen as I have neuropathy in both feet so hard to tell sometimes.

Arms are fine.

It may actually be a cardio issue as I talked to my twin brother in the UK just last night about it and he says he has the same, on and off since he also had stents fitted just 3 weeks ago after a heart attack.

As soon as covid/travel gets easier I wil be off to Bangkok or Pattaya to see some specialists for thorough checkups.
