What to avoid before vaccination

My wife's family are in the process of being vaccinated.

They've all had Sinovac as a first injection, and will have Astra Zeneca as the second. This is government organised.
The notice they've had informs them they shouldn't drink alcohol or coffee beforehand.
Coffee allegedly makes your heart race, so it's dangerous.
Really?

my friend in Surin got vaxed and she had a whole range of reactions afterwards, and had a lot of anxiety before getting it, as many people do. maybe coffee no good for scared people.

Since when has anxiety been a covid sympton prior to the injection ? Many people have anxiety prior to any type of injection.

i think you misread my comment. no covid symptoms. just people who are scared of needles and don't want the vaccine. people who are scared of the side effects. my maid refuses to get it. many Thais are scared of it.

Well true. Point of fact now. My wife was scared too, do to so much rubbish on FB she believed it. As for me then previously if i had it ok  if not still ok  im just one of those people who don't worry much . Now my wife is a differant story and her believing such tripe annoyed me so as soon as the expatvac came out i registered on it simply to prove a point, nothing else. Now that I have had two, no reactions differant to most other jabs I have had in my life, with her the penny has dropped and now I have her registered for moderna. So me being bloody minded about her believing the FB crap initially has solved her anxiety about  it.

That's a good point about scared people.
My in-laws had an appointment for the first injection. My wife took them to the local school where it was being administered. Or rather, she took her mother. Her father refused to go as he was scared of needles...

When my wife delivered her mother home. mother told father it was all OK and didn't hurt. A second trip to the school was needed to take my wife's father once he'd been convinced. He's only 65-ish.
