I will always bow to qualified medical advice. It's true that rapid antigen is not as accurate as a PCR test (that's a well known fact globally). That disadvantage is counterbalanced by it's speed. It has it's place as a testing option. The best would obviously be a rapid AND highly accurate test. I spoke about this, on here, last year and on other media in my own country. So much focus was put on vaccines and not enough on rapid and accurate testing. The main thing is to know who has the virus and who doesn't. For those who have it....treatment...for those who don't .....keep going....

Rapid and accurate testing coupled with high vaccination numbers, will see a rapid decline in Covid worldwide. And that is in the interests of all of us.

However, the UK has expressed concerns that the information being provided by Thailand is insufficient. 

Oh Oh the poms are on to them.  Is that another red list I see coming?

Based on this statistics in the test, the error rate is quite high for ATK.

Thats a false positive difference not a false negative surely?

Testing is irrelevant when 98%+ of those testing positive are not going to be seriously ill.

 

Testing doesn't stop covid. Vaccination doesn't stop it. Nothing does.

Nobody says anything "stops" the virus.

But vaccination nearly completely prevents you from getting sick or dying, assuming you get a decent vaccine.

That's all we can do for now unless you want to let it rip and cause the hospitals to go beyond capacity again and the death rate to skyrocket.

The government is not doing it's part. The daily announcements of number of vaccine doses are ridiculous. They went up again today to 178.2m yet the daily vaccination rate is less than half of what they promised and many sites are closed for weeks already.

If they had vaccines, the logical thing would be to send them to the places that they want to open. So either they don't have them, and/or they send them to the wrong places.
