I was always amazed how Thais have an extremely high level of 'immunities' against a lot of infections that would cause a westerner to be sick. Things that we 'over-protected' westerners have no inbuilt immunity strength against, they have in bundles. I am always amazed what Thais can deal with - especially though the floods. But I get annoyed when some westerners will join in and berate others for not 'having a go', when it is obvious they are not realising what they are doing - until they get home and have some sort of 'bug' that requires a course of antibiotics (or worse).
