The Thai government has got rid of its list of “approved countries” and has opened up the sandbox programme to fully vaccinated visitors from anywhere in the world. Both the United States and the UK are cautioning their citizens against travel to Thailand, due to the high infection rate and low vaccination numbers. Pattaya is accelerating its rollout of Covid vaccinations in preparation for its November opening.

About 6 minutes in, we hear that 5 million children aged 12-18 will be vaccinated with the Pfizer vaccine. In previous days' reports, we saw that less than this number of Pfizer DOSES is being imported. Is The Thaiger going to explain the arithmetic behind this?

Maybe you both need to read the news a bit more:

That's over 30 million doses of Pfizer which Pfizer have confirmed are to arrive by the end of the year.

It's been reported in Thaiger but I can't be bothered to look it up as it wouldn't make any difference.

Edit:

Just noticed the article about it in Thaiger, which you commented on @Bob20,  so you were evidently well aware that the doses are due to arrive and that Pfizer has confirmed that.

So "Pattaya prepares for reopening" translates to "rolling out the vaccines", well it's something.

Exactly, where’s the rest of the story? Details, we want details. Hahaha

While it's good to see the Thai Government is getting rid of some of the draconian restrictions to entry, that were made when Thailand had such low case numbers, there is a hurdle they need to overcome. If you expect arrivals to be tested prior to departure and fully vaccinated, shouldn't those who arrive expect that the population of the place they are coming to is tested and fully vaccinated? Just a thought.....

That's being too rational, logical and sensible. We are talking about Prayut (Ronald McDonald ) Chan-o-cha here.
