And of course, no mention of testing numbers or vaccination numbers first and second dose.... I suppose one day, they'll say .... "Oh we reached 80% double dosed.....sorry...forgot to mention it"

Why are you leaking tomorrows press release?

Testing numbers are availalbe but quite old data, it appears that no media organisation in Thailand( including  thethaiger) thinks this is important enough to report

It's my understanding from others here that no outlet does any investigation and they just all publish what they're given by the authorities...

There is no discrepancy between cases and deaths. 20K cases and 200 deaths, 10K cases and 100 deaths. CFR is about one percent, mostly over 70 years old. This wave is fading, each wave is about 3 months.

Thailand might be actually doing pretty well in testing because in factories, offices and in homes they test everybody nearby if a case pops up or a hospitalization. In the West it is more or less voluntarily.

Obviously it varies by country. However, in the U.K. many industries insist on regular weekly or even twice weekly tests. This is particularly true for health services, teachers and school children). In addition, anyone returning to the U.K. from most countries, including places in Europe like Germany and France require a paid for Covid test in the U.K. In addition, Covid tests are free (unless for travel) and are everywhere, even sent to your home. The U.K. typically conducts 600,000-1,000,000 tests per day. That’s 20 to 33 times the level of testing in Thailand with a similar population size.

That's unusual. Monday's figures are always a dip (because of the weekend), yet today the number of deaths is up 26%... Let's see what tomorrow brings...

was thinking exactly the same. we are not getting to the time after "relaxation" when infection rates should spike, i will give it another 2 weeks. let's see what happens in next couple of days

Wow...I actually managed to get a bit of commentary going.... I believe the only number that is going to count is the number of first and more importantly second doses of vaccine. These set the benchmark for safe reopening; not prime ministerial pronouncements or TAT's latest outburst. If not then you'll see one number continue to rise....deaths.

So I wonder how many cases there have ACTUALLY been in Thailand?  America has had a crap load but they have also run ~650 million tests with a population of ~330 million.  That is nearly 2 test per person (actually more as infants and small children typically aren't tested).  Thailand on the other hand has tested ~9 million people and has a ~70 million population.  So instead of testing >200% of the population they have only tested 13%.  I'm betting there are a hell of a lot of unreported cases and that the government isn't looking forward to getting any official numbers for at home test kits......

As long as there are no infected dying on the streets, dying at home without medical assistance, no medical staff to collect dead bodies in the house, etc... these are more credible news to me from social media. It may mean than the healthcare system and its facilities is coping adequately. The daily number can be manipulated with individual agenda, hence i use it as a guide but not something that i would follow strictly.
