Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration says the sale of Covid-19 antigen test kits in shops and online has now been approved. Dr Paisal Dankhum from the FDA says the Public Health Ministry took the decision to allow more widespread sales, in order to improve public access to ATKs. Paisal has cautioned buyers to ensure the kits they’re purchasing carry Thai labelling that says, “Allowed for use by the general public”,

maybe add  'and don't tell anyone if positive'

How many of the hundreds of thousands of people the government has forced out of work can afford the 200 to 700 price tag? If this is so important to the Thai government, they should be funding it, especially for businesses they have forced to close!

Besides making jokes about the whole situation, someone needs to point out to the government that they repeatedly stated that the ATK's would be free!!

Buying sub-standard items with tax-money and then charging for them isn't right.

I think rapid antigen test kits have their place, for example, prior to boarding a flight where you will be in close proximity to others. Or crossing provincial borders from red to amber provinces. Knowing if a person is positive or negative in a short period of time has merit. Against that is the number of false positives and negatives that these tests bring with them. PCR is still the best test (and even it has it's inaccuracies). But more important is vaccination. Now is the time for mass vaccination. Get on with it Thailand!!!!
