The Royal Thai Police say that since last January, 131 police officers have been disciplined for misconduct, 38 officers have been removed from service, and 7 officers have been fired. When the top echelon of the Thai police and the PM are held accountable for their corrupt activities and complacency then only will there be respect , honor and integrity among the ranks. A slap on the wrist "ain't gonna change" piss poor moral and criminal like attitude ! Absolute power corrupts Absolutely and Prayut"s administration is a prime example of this " gangster" like mentality the Thai police department exude !

Simple sack them. set up a department on good wages and a bonus for catching the rotten apples.. set up a Facebook page so people can send in video evidence too.. Jail the ones committed serious crimes..problem is the whole barrel is full of rotten apples

Can anyone explain to me the difference between being "removed from the service" and "fired"?

Also, am I the only person to have noticed that there is not one mention of a prosecution, let alone a custodial sentence? I suspect the reason for this is that if these cases were to come before a court, many of the accused would have interesting stories to tell. Maybe better not to open that can of worms.

So what's the betting that Joe Ferrari, if convicted, will get a slap on the wrist, because it's his "first offence"?

Out of all these officers who committed whatever offences, a few were fired!!!  Why weren't they all fired?  Guess there must be positions to be filled at the top so they will just be moved there.  Thai justice for the corrupt.

Not sure if it is more rewarding than a Thai Monk. Cash in hand ( which in theory they are not supposed to touch) every week and no ledgers audited.  Even the RTP have to be more circumspect with their cash "donations"
