Officials from Bangkok and the nearby provinces of Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani are being told to prepare for possible flooding, following the Royal Irrigation Department’s decision to accelerate the discharge rate of water from the Chao Phraya Dam in Chai Nat in expectation of more rain. This is starting to get scary. Good to see water released and hope that the expected storms in October veer north of the Pacific. Since the floods from 10 years ago virtually nothing substantial has been done to prevent further flooding in Bangkok apart from a wall around Don Muang airport.
