Bit slow off the mark with this as usual, other countries had these fitted to taxi's last year. Never mind, am sure they will catch up with the rest of the world by 2025 or around that time.

I remember quite a few years ago of getting into a taxi that had a partition in it due to being mugged one or two times. It was the most cramped uncomfortable taxi ride I have ever been in. I am about 5'10, so even my height or anything above that is torture.. Never again with their box cars. If they have it I will just say no thank you.. And also isn't the key for ventilation? No matter what you put in it as a barrier, the fact is unless is is 100% sealed off it aint gonna work.

Either by driving in reverse to prevent the driver's breathe hitting the passenger, or, making the passenger drive to achieve the same effect.

Taxi driver vaccinated, an antigen test every 3 days for the driver and drive open windows. That should be enough.

Assuming the taxi driver has on display his vaccination certificate and antigen test to be readable before you enter the car then that should be ok, other than that the risk is still present.

Might be a bit picky but Covid is easily transmitted through touching of surfaces contaminated by the previous passengers so being separated from the driver is the least of your worries. Unless of course you believe the taxi has been thoroughly disinfected between passengers at great cost to the taxi operators. Doubt it.

If you need a taxi it's the same as any public transport you take your risks.

Of course, in order to keep the taxi sanitary, the driver needs to disinfect the partition, at least on the passenger's side, after each fare.
