Official - Immigration extend 60 Day Covid extension applications to Nov 26th.

Recommended Posts

Answers those questions posed in another OP by some folks.  Also should be enough information if they take a copy of the new order with them back to where they were denied the extension recently.

OK, someone read it for me and they confirmed it does indeed say extended until November 26th.

I know that isn't official news but that's all I got!

this Twitter account reports it too....

This guy is an immigration lawyer in Bangkok. He doesn't know any news about this new November 26th extension date.  Why is it so d*mn hard to get official info on this stuff?

Also, from September 28 (day after extension deadline) to November 26 is exactly 60 days. I wonder if we've read/translated wrong and the document means the final day of the September 27th extension will END on November 26th. Does that make sense. Anyway, who knows....

Why

Yeah, I mean if your job is directly involved with foreigners and immigration issues how the hell do we get news on that stuff on the message board here before an immigration law firm!

I know this is anecdotal but I checked with my former Thai language school on the COVID extension because they know some people at Bangkok immigration. Below is the message I recieved . . .

Thank you for this information.
Yes, I also have checked with The Changwattana Immigration.
The officer told me that a Covid amnesty visa will be extended until
26th NOVEMBER 2021.
It is true news !

So foreigners who stay in Thailand now can extend this visa for another 2 more months.
Good for them :)

Thanks, Faz.

My wife works with immi and foreigners every day and didn't know this.  She extends her thanks for the document, as well.

Immigrations communication network is sadly lacking, especially with information reaching the desk officers that actually deal with the foreigners. From previous personal experiences, I discovered that whilst the senior officer in charge may receive an email with amended orders or new directives - they forget to advise the frontline staff.

The BIG question is Mr Faz...how'd you find this out before people in working in tourism, language schools and immigration lawyers?

I think a pay raise is in order!

Does anyone know if uk citizens usually get passports back on the same day you go in to get a covid visa extension (assuming they agree of course). my tourist visa runs out on october 14 and i had already bought flights to chiang mai a few days later.

Yes, your Passport should be returned as soon as the extension is approved.

Beware, certain Immigration offices will give you an under consideration stamp for 14/15 days and ask you to return for the other 45 days.
