The governor of Bangkok says 3 criteria need to be met before the capital can re-open, in order to protect the health and safety of residents. Aswin Kwanmuang says while Bangkok is anxious to re-open and reboot its economy, it can only do so when it’s safe. This means the re-opening could be pushed out to mid-November, according to a Bangkok Post report. According to the Bangkok Post report, the second condition for re-opening is that daily new infections continue to fall. 
 

Just like the Phuket Sandbox Conditions ….. more a Guideline than a rule we have seen, as we saw with the 90 person per week infection rule, and 80% hospitalisation!

What's with the 70% vaccinated? 

I thought it was closer to 85% needed for the Delta variant. As for the continued drop in case numbers they already control that by the drop in tests carried out.

The governor of CM seems to disagree and thinks that he can get to a high degree of vaccination (even 100% in certain areas) in the next 9 days, including the 2 weeks it takes for the vaccine to become fully effective

Mid November works for me. However the date isn’t the controlling factor, it’s whether or not enough of the city is open to make the trip worthwhile. These are all soft rules at best, just like with Phuket. We shall wait and see.

Bunch of lies again over & over again, when the time comes again next month, it will be mid-December. When November comes, it will be mid-January of 2022. What the Thai government don't know is, the country already in life support & poverty mode, still kept worrying on restrictions, curfew & closure.

I agree and disagree

Yes, it's a horribly difficult time.

But until most people have been protected by vaccination, you can't start big movements by anyone and spread the virus around.

The government should provide clarity though, based on solid scientific advice and not just launch "silly ideas" every day.

By the time the magical 70% vaccination rate is actualy achieved it will be past time for some of us to line up for a booster (provided it still offers some benefit)

This link <  https://covidvax.live/location/tha  > allows you to check the current vaccination status of all countries worldwide, both for vaccinated (1 dose) and fully vaccinated.  You can select by country, and if you select worldwide you will see all the countries that reached that 'magical 70% vaccination rate' - and for the remainders how many days it would take at current vaccination rate to reach that goal (for Thailand - 76 days).  But a look at the 'winners' will quickly convince you that having achieved 70% vaccination does NOT mean that covid is done and dusted there.

That's ok and it is way too late as BKK is already out of control and ready to fall more. In the meantime they can work on destroying CM and HH Prachuap Khiri Kahn and what's left of Chonburi.

Well, we finally have someone who knows what he is talking about, noting that we need a certain percentage vaccinated and wait a few weeks after that's been accomplished.

Now he just needs to up the 70% to 85%.

And needs to count-in everyone in that.

And then be honest about how many have been vaccinated and what still needs to be done.

And when that's been done (with the usual delays, hickups, shortages etc), then he can announce it and we have two weeks to prepare.

Instead, just like everyone else, he's making unrealistic assumptions which will lead to further postponement or opening too early.
