Sad loss of a young life add it to the hundreds that go the same way because they are too dumb to wear a helmet and the police are to lazy to enforce the laws of the land. Including the curfew that is currently in place around Pattaya.

Or the facemarks, or the bar closures, or the massage parlour closures, or the speeding traffic... add to your hearts content.

I wonder where they all are anyway since there were no foreigners to fine anymore?

Mostly in BKK protecting the corrupt regime in charge.

Laws are rarely enforced around the country for driving infractions. Even 8f they were people would still disobey them until a true crackdown and modern day traffic enforcement was conducted.  Just look at the morons driving on the sidewalks, wrong way on the streets on the motorbikes etc...it is not rocket science.

Even then it seems to only be done in the tourist areas from what I have seen, unless it is the speed enforcement done by camera, for which I received 2 tickets in 2 weeks after traveling to Jomtien, and Hua Hin on the expressways.  Watched this morning as a westerner, apparent westerner I should add, rode his motorbike right by a RTP officer at the corner of Sathon Thai Rd and Rama 4 road without a helmet, and the officer never even flinched or waived him over as he rode no more than 3 feet from him.  Sure it was during the morning commute, but it appears they were looking for registration and other violations by car drivers.  Insanity.

Comments complaining about laws being enforced?

How about individuals take personal responsibility of their health and do what's best for them.  If the young lady chose to wear a helmet, odds are she would still be alive, it was her choice not to.  Blaming it on the government or police is an impotent way of thinking.
