Curious as I read a thread and some CDC articles etc about those of us that have had Dengue(me) and some testing that suggests some may have a better immunity to covid due to antibodies made from dengue..

This is how evolution works. Not only are we selecting for a variant that is both infinitely transmissible and able to avoid our defenses but the virus is selecting for humans that just shrug it off. It's the Circle of Life, dude.

Pick your source, but yes up to 75% are asymptomatic.

I have always been in CNX and it was when I was a newbie..maybe pre-2010...I was still living in a GH and going to school for TEFL degree..so long ago...pretty full GH..lots of drinking-socializing etc..went to walking street which I avoid these days so really long ago! 555....I recall sharing a bag of edamame soybeans with a buddy in GH..days later I felt odd...remember stretching my calf pushing on a curb...and feeling "off"..ignored it and was hungover alot....days went by and got worse...thought it was typical food poisoning as Id eat anything and these days have found safe reliable spots to eat reg....may recall being on toilet or puking but thought it was booze or food as i was a newbie still..also was rainy season...there was a huge clay pot at our GH and lots of trees-plants--water around(perfect for mozzies)..maybe after a week It got worse..didnt eat for 5 days..lost 10 lbs...lost alot of weight..kidneys started aching bad and I noticed dramatic weight loss and feeling so bad as to rule out hangovers-booze and food illness...so me n my buddy went to the hospital as he was sick too(which held up my shared food and booze theory)....nope.....we both had dengue!

One rouge mozzie at our GH was on the loose..living the dream with all the water and plant sources there at our place and they were breeding in that huge clay pot..and taking out the GH kids one by one! Someone would get it--then another and another--like hunger games!  The well ones would take care of the sick ones--some had it longer than others--I recall a fit yoga gal bounced back but I was a lazy hungover party boy who was dehydrated and out of shape already and ignored the signs until it was too late....a simple blood test revealed the truth and I was in denial...but shows I was a newbie as I actually had travel insurance luckily!

Checked into CM Ram--pricey tourist spot and got VIP room..has a living are and kitchen! though I was so weak i had no real visitors or any strength to enjoy it--was just laid out in bed..and I was a pissy falang as I recall being angry being woken every hour to have temp taken and given paracetamol ..that was it, as there was no real cure other than bed rest and fluids..so the hospital was a waste of time and money but as noted the insurance was key--i recall they went to GH to get passport to hold hostage until ins cleared $$$

And the bill for 4 days was 30k!..My ONE regret was 3 cute nurses came in to give me a sponge bath!!! I was a stupid newbie with no knowledge and panicked and said i can shower myself and did so foolishly...in hindsight had I known what I do know and had ins covered it, i was a damn fool to pass on the 3 cuties offer...still is a regret i will take to my grave.....maybe even a reason to start hanging out with some mozzies!

I returned to the GH as many fled the scene as they were all spooked and started the long haul recovery and sucks laying in bed a u hear everyone outside having fun.....could really wipe out a short holiday maker as I usually stay for months each visit to make it worth the long trip and get my moneys worth out of it....

All in all,Id say it took upwards of 6 months to get my blood cell count up to being able to have my energy back as walking up stairs was a chore--one dude walked up 3 flights and passed out..he got dengue too....
