A drug suppression team from the Mekong Riverine Unit, located in the northern Thai province of Nakhon Phanom found 500 kilograms of dried and compressed marijuana that had been left on the bank of the Mekong River, last night. The commander of the Nakhon Phanom MRU, Jaraskiat Chaiyaphan, says a team out on a routine patrol discovered 10 sacks of weed left on the riverbank. The 10 sacks contained 1 kilogram of marijuana each and made up 500 slabs.
