Actually there is nothing strange about the truck in the second picture. In Thailand it is known as an Ee-Tan, and basically it is a truck meant for agriculture use. They are made in Thailand with a steel frame and wooden body, the main advantage is they are super cheap. You can buy one new for just 170,000 baht as opposed to buying an Isuzu for 600-700K. 

These Ee-Tan uses engines originally meant for farm equipment for example Kubota and hence they are easy to maintain and repair since most farmers probably have the same engine for their tractors and plough. Also they are equipped with a PTO, this makes them highly versatile. You can run water pumps with the same engine that powers these trucks.

The only "strange" thing here is that they aren't really meant to be driven on public roads since they lack number plates and hence no registrations/insurance. They are meant to be used only in the farms but of course that doesn't stop some from driving them around.

It is not uncommon to have at least one small human airbag mounted on the front of your bike.  This man cleverly has three.  He will surely survive a frontal impact.  Unless he hits his head, or catches covid.
