FFS, Thaiger .....

Well I have to agree with you there. It seems like a figment of someone's imagination. Had to laugh at the South being the party scene. Clearly no one who wrote that article had been North of Bangkok.

The thing that annoys me about people who write these things, is their definition of what is "the south".  For them "the south" bottoms out at Phuket/Krabi.

The only thing in "the south" that is mentioned is that Hat Yai has an airport.

The remainder of "the south" seems to be some completely forgotten area of the country, which also has a regional flavour, dialect and geography.

Annoying, it is.

If anyone wanted to enjoy the real travel, then fly to Kuala Lumpur and take the train towards North. Can reach up to Chiang Mai. That way one long trip everything can be covered. No need to land in BKK and go back and forth to cover North and South
