That's gratitude for letting a 43 yr old " bum ass"sit in the basement watching porn while you let him live in your house after you help him get his life back together following a divorce ! I'd kick his" bum ass" out , file for an appeal, pay him $500/ monthly installments" if I had to" and tell him to live off that ( rent,food, utilities, transportation) ! !   Even if the parents are rich ,Payback's a bitch !

How could police inspect it after it was destroyed ??? Duh-oh!

The news articles say the parents "threw out" his collection, not "destroyed it".

As well, apparently they kept some of it and made photos of the "cover art" on some of the movie labels as they thought they might be illegal in some way (possibly dealing with beastiality and maybe some child porn in the opinion of the parents).

So it could be the police examined the material wherever the parents disposed of it, or maybe just looked at the stuff they'd kept (perhaps for their own personal collection).
