If the beaches are closed, what possible reason is there to go there?

Like massage shops, some coffee shops, and a few restaurants here in Pattaya that are "open", not every vendor on the beaches in Koh Lan will be abiding by these "rules" most likely.   Just guessing

Visitors will be required to present a passport or if they are a Thai national, a Thai ID card. Foreign migrant workers are not allowed on the island as per the rules stated in the announcement.

So everyone's welcome, with no Covid checks ... except "migrant workers", who are banned ...

All very pathetic. Why do people go to the trouble of travelling vast distances at great expense ? To be locked up and basically not able to enjoy even an evening walk on the beach. To much BS for even half a working brain. What's up with this virus ? Does it only "work" at certain times and at certain locations ? And does the consumption of alcohol attracts it ? So many ridiculous and downright stupid rules which even for the most uneducated brain around don't make any sense. But hey, don't weep when Thailand has lost it's tourist trade permanently.

None at all. But don't you worry, the TAT will use the magic 8 ball and predict 453,000 visitors next Tuesday generating the revenue of small South American country.
