He is being allowed to create an attempt at garnering public sympathy in the hope that he will not stand trial. There are so many top & lower rank cops who he could bring down that the whole RTP publicity machine will be used to try to protect him. And in this process the public opinion of the police will fall further into the toilet, where everything brown should go.

This should be easy to prove. Hope he has paid the correct taxes. 
Maybe now the government needs to cut the budget of the police force, as they are obviously getting paid way to much.

Of course he is denying it, he is an honest/ upstanding member of the police force here, he would never utter anything that is untrue.

They can't reduce the salary, because if they're not paid enough then they would be tempted to accept bribes, which now they aren't

He supposedly had some group offer him some sort of a big deal in birds nests in the south. Most of these cars of his were caught being sent coming across the southern border, which sounds fishy in itself, but may be difficult to connect him with all the dots. He may just be one of those guys like certain others that have too much details and info on many of those upstanding government and public officials, so will never ever even get close to more than being told to be a good boy next time, and you are not guilty. Certain convicted heroin smuggler in a high place comes to mind, and then one must think about Chuwitt who is still alive to breathe air.

Wouldnt it still be illegal and corrupt if he kept confiscated cars for himself ?

Were the car confiscations legal and justified ?

It's in every major newspaper around the world. And the crime is on video...

Also it's a current matter and not first delayed by years of softening up opinion.

Thailand is openly admitting that they are depending on foreign money from exports and tourism.

Countries are going to want to distance themselves from this, which will have a big impact.

My opinion is that he will go down. Time will tell.

Impossible to save up all that money to buy the cars, reality check 90% of the people do not make 100 million in a lifetime with such a salary, and i only count 100 million so all other assets is impossible.. point to 1 thing... I am to stupid to make a good lie.. not me, but him

He got them through a plan that he was the champion of intercepting the illegal cars and confiscating them, then the next step they went to auction at a huge discounted price and he legally purchased them. For every care confiscated he supposedly got a reward of if I am correct 40% of the value or something like that. Catch if if you can, but you can't is probably his motto.

If it was just the tabloids, okay. But serious broadsheets are reporting on a daily basis on Thailand now. And the EU and UK declaring red zones is not entirely unpolitical either.

So he could keep any car imported into Thailand and all he had to do was to query the price and tax paid ?

   Someone declares how mucg a car is worth and pays tax, he disputes the cars worth and confiscates the car , he then gets 40 % of its value and uses that money to buy the car at an auction 

   That is theft legalized
