I've read a few news stories and all of them portray the Myanmar "regime" as being unable to take care of the problem itself. This de facto opens the door to intervention to "help them", bearing in mind Myanmar has been in the crosshairs of Soros-backed NGOs for a long time. It will be worthwhile to observe what they push for and/or do in the coming weeks.- 2

Yeah and they're not that competent as most of them get a harsh taste of the ground before they reach the age of 15, just look at the scars on the arms and legs. -

I know Sri Lankans who were affected in 2004 and they did not see a penny from the millions which were generously donated by people across the globe. The villages were rebuilt thanks to very local fundraisers, essentially organised by villagers. The big "charities" are untrustworthy, in my opinion. But kudos to @Grumpish anyway, hopefully at least part of his donation will be used well.- 1
