Thaiger Talk Quiz #316 - Sukhumvit Soi 4
Dont know where Soi 8 or even Soi 4 are or what they are like - other than reputation. I assume they are close to each other and are in Bangkok? I have heard of Soi Cowboy - is that one of them, or is that another one? Or are these Sois in Pattaya? I note that there seems to be a Sukhumvit road in every town and village. Was he a senior Roads Official back in the day??- 1

News Forum - New liquid and gel rules enforced at Thailand airports
Dont laugh everyone - this might happen. The bureaucracy and women have a lot in common - irrational, illogical and zero accountability. I recall one time in Australia at one particular airport in a very woke liberal State (Melbourne) me and my luggage I was scanned/searched 4 times. On that 4th occasion I complained and asked why I was being searched 4 times - the idiot woman had no idea and did not care - she said it is the process we have to follow. I said, then please raise this with your Superviser later and ask him/her to raise it at the next airport management meeting - 4 times is ridiculous. She looked at me as if I was asking her to design a space rocket - I said 'non compus mentus?' - and she demanded to know what I just said. I said that it was Latin for 'please try to help'. She thought about detaining me, but decided I was not worth the trouble. I hope that one day in USA someone will sue them for breach of privacy or something. The authorities have no rights to search your house or person unless they have just cause. And just because a few terrorists used a few planes as weapons, does not mean we are all terrorists. Therefore, one search and one scan should be enough. If USA restricts their searches to something reasonable, then that will flow on to other countries. On my last trip through Melbourne airport it was 2 searches - so an improvement - no doubt due to complaints. -
