A police chief who allegedly killed a suspect while in custody has surrendered to police in Chon Buri, saying he was just trying to protect society from the dangers of drugs. Well then based on what he said he clearly is an honest and honourable cop doing his best for Thai society. Rather than murdering an arrested person he was merely helping to protect the people from the dangers of drugs.

So clearly many people have got totally the wrong end of the stick here. Those six plastic bags over the victims head were simply a precaution to keep drugs of the streets.

Given his collection of prestige cars, a magnificent mansion than clearly his voluntary work outside of office hours should be a fitting example for the nation.

Once he is allowed to continue his work and this entire misunderstanding done and dusted  then perhaps he should retire from the police force and run for election at the earliest opportunity as he has the moral and ethical standards that will hold him in good stead should he wish to become a future PM, Health minister, Agricultural minister or any other position of high national importance.

In earlier reports, he was supposed to be transferred pending investigation. The Office of the Inactive Posts is a bit crowded but hey we can always find room for one more.

When you hear the "reasons" they give, you must give them some credit as one need real good imagination to come up with a story. Yes, the story is a bit far fetched but they did try.

Now it will take 18 months for them to investigate if there is any wrong doing.

"Joe don't worry about that guy you murdered while a room full of cops watched. Just sign the Lamborghini over to me and give me your girlfriend's phone number."
