Only freeze the permit for one year? What about the offence and punishment? May be needs to introuduce maximum penalty like life imprisonment during this period also.

So civilians can no longer carry a gun in public? Fair enough. Some Thais have a hair trigger temper and a gun at hand - dangerous combination.

It doesn't worry me here in Thailand lots of firearms but you rarely see them. 

It always worried me in Western Countries where various Left Wing Governments have done they're best to disarm Law Abiding Citizens over the last 50 years while doing little to protect the same Citizens against criminality, terrorism and illegal immigrant crime.
