Pompy were the worst when they were in the top flight. There was a guy in the stands with a big drum. Whacked it the whole game. Must have gone crazy in that 7-4 match against Reading the other year. -

A True Thailand Tale. When I first came to Thailand I was eager to see what intrigues the country had to offer. Someone, in the bar, suggested that going to the crocodile farm would be interesting. They said that tomorrow, a member of staff was going there with her new boy friend; Gurd. I might meet them there. So next day I was off, on me rented m/c, to see the croxs. I wasn't disappointed. There were hundreds of them. Almost everyone seemed to be up at the feeding station. There, you could buy a bit of meat for 50 baht, dangle it over the gantry rail on a rope. The croxs would jump up and grab the food. It was great fun. I had a couple of goes. Gurd, the German guy, (only found out his name later) became very confident. Over confident even. He dispensed with the rope, and leaned over holding the meat. As a croc jumped up, he was whisking the grub away at the last moment. Must say he was rather good at it, but, I thought, rather him do it than me.. Everyone was laughing. And this egged him on all the more. Off came his shirt. He threw in to his lady friend to hold. An ATM card fell out of the top pocket. She just about stopped it going through the gaps in the boards, and deftly slipped it into her little hand bag. But!! Such is the way with these things, a sneaky croc, that he wasn't watching, came from under the gantry and grabbed the meat; and Gurd's arm. He was jerked over the rail, and within seconds he was fighting off a couple of crocs. However!! There were Thai workers on hand. Very much on the ball they were. They worked quickly at the rear of the gantry, from behind the fence. With nooses on the end of long bamboos, they lassoed his leg; and pulled him to safety. They got him out. He was in a bad way though. His girl friend rushed over, cradled his head in her arms, and spoke softly to him. He seemed to answer. And then? Nothing more! A first-aid guy arrived, He put his hand on Gurd's heart, and slowly shook his head. Brown bread he was. The girl began crying. Really sobbing. Almost inconsolably. She was a decent looking bit of stuff. I thought I'd better comfort her. I put my arm round her shoulder, and she rested her head on my chest. For ten minutes she sobbed; making my shirt all wet. She seemed to like my caring nature and her arm curled around my waist. The medic wagon arrived and took Gurd away. She was still holding his shirt, and crying, but not so much as before. Could she speak English I wondered? ''I'm so sorry dear. You must have loved him a great deal?'' ''Was fat pig.'' ''Right! Did he not say 'I love you' in his final seconds?'' ''Maybe. Not care bout dat.'' ''He was the greatest lover you have ever had?'' She shook her head. ''Him rubbish love.'' ''He has gotten you preggers?'' Just more sobbing. My curiosity was getting the better of my compassion. ''Why are you crying then dear?'' Then she said to me: a - He promise take me Germany. b - All family's buffalo die. Promise replace them all. c - Not know pin ATM. d - You hansum man. Can look after me and get new buffaloes? I know many would say 'd'. And of course I would have. But she answered ''Not know pin ATM.'' If you got 'c' then congrats. You certainly know about Thai ladies. -

I had a dog like that. It was annoying. Turned out he was just under stimulated aka bored. So someone walked him two or three times a day and I took him out and about often. He turned out all right. -
