Xenophobe. Now that USAID has stopped, providing humanitarian assistance to refugees has become a financial burden on Thai taxpayers. If refugees can work then the burden will be reduced. What he fears is the refugees will gain state recognition via work permits and that’s the first step on the path to eventual citizenship.
