Fake and falsely acquired proof of vaccination

Not only fake vaccine documents have been reported in Europe, the USA and other countries, facilitating travel by unvaccinated people, but now it is also reported and confirmed that in the Netherlands people actually receive their vaccination passport while they are in line to be jabbed, and then leave the location before they are jabbed but already have a vaccine passport. Highly objectionable of course, but again showing that tourism isn't going to be safe if the documents can't be trusted. AZ replaced by Pfizer in the U.K.

The U.K. has yesterday decided to mostly abandon the AZ vaccine and has ordered an additional 35m doses Pfizer for boosters next year. It's seen as a defeat for AZ, that was developed in conjunction with the University of Oxford.

Thailand invents AutoVacc (I prefer RoboVac 🤣)

Thailand has found a way to extract vaccine doses from AZ vials, maximising the number of doses. It is claimed they can now get 12 doses out of vials that contain only 10-11 according to AZ. (I'm not making it up!)

Happy reading!

Crack me up... 🤣

Something similar happened in the US early on when they realized that the vials contained more doses than were on the label. I think they used the primitive solution of tipping the bottle so the syringe could suck it all up.

Hey James 👋 Yeah, actually overfilling vials and ampules is standard practice for drug companies. I think I recall some news about the FDA revising its guidelines for overfilling a few years ago.

You definitely don't want to tip the bottle and risk the needle pecking the glass because even the slightest contact can dull a needle and make the shot more painful than necessary.

Overfilling is done for a few reasons. It's almost impossible for a health care worker to draw all of the medicine from a vial. Some of it sticks to the glass. Then there is the possibility of human error by overdrawing or air bubbles creating a foamy layer that needs to be pushed out.

The multidose AstraZeneca vials certainly contain 12 doses of product (overfilled) but indicate an available 10 or 11 allowing for error.

It will be interesting for me to see how this new device works.
