While Bangkok remains the epicentre of the latest wave of Covid-19, with more than 28,000 coronavirus cases in the capital since April 1, Thailand’s public health minister says there’s no need to impose a lockdown. Is that the same Public Health Minister who, one week before the Songkran festivities and days after rising 3rd wave infection numbers were published, told the nation that it was OK for them to travel from their work-a-day cities to their home towns and villages? And, a fortnight later, as new-infs and death numbers were going through the roof, he tried to ease the situation and lessen his guilt by telling us that he'd 'always done his best'.

Ah, yes, ANUTIN . . . that's the chappie, who is now saying it's OK to remove lockdown restrictions in what is by far the country's worst province - Bangkok - for new infections and deaths in Thailand's 3rd wave of the pandemic. Quite a remarkable man, that Anutin.

And word has it he thinks he's top of the list for PM successor. I wonder how many Thais would think that 'OK'.
