No. But an interesting story.  The NSW Rugby League team (Blues) are called 'cockroaches' by their Queensland opponents. Think Liverpool Vs Everton or Man City Vs Man Utd or Arsenal Vs Tottenham - and then multiply by 1000.  Every year the NSW and QLD rugby league teams play 3 very big matches and it is called the State of Origin - it means more to the players than Test matches against England. It is a massive rivalry that goes back a long time.  Prior to 1980, when the NSW State played the QLD State, the players were based on where they played. Because NSW had far more money, most QLD players played in NSW and were in the NSW team - and they won all the time. Wally Lewis, arguable the best ever rugby league player, refused to move to Sydney NSW and only played in QLD. Even though he was playing only in QLD, he was selected for Australia and was the Australian Captain. He and others argued that players should play for the State team where they were born and first played rugby league.  The first 'State of Origin' match in 1980 was a 'get square' match that QLD won - it was one of the greatest games of all time - and ever since it has been the pinnacle of rugby league - think NFL Superbowl. If you want to see the best and most aggressive games of rugby league where the players hold nothing back and play 100+% - then watch the State of Origin.

What a great idea.. 💡 Draw a line through the middle of Birmingham and apply the same origin concept to England… 😁

North vs South

North might have to play with a false nine, but I think they’d still win it.

Pickford, Walker, Stones, Foden, Palmer, Gordon, Rashford (others)

vs

Rice, Kane, Saka, Watkins, Livramento etc

@SnapDragon might have a different opinion, mind

Would be more passion from the players in that game than England vs Montenegro, I’m sure

Sounds like as great idea - and what the fans would support. I also think England should combine with Wales and Scotland and Nth Ireland form a UK team to play in the World Cup. Only the World Cup though - everything else - as is.
