Very unclear to me is, do you need to change your passport to get vaccine passport even if you do not travel?

I’m surprised they don’t give it to you on the spot at the vaccination center.

That would be too easy.

Probably some sort of backend registration system needed that they don't have at all hospitals, thats why only certain places.

I haven't had one in my hands yet, but it will certainly need to have personal details, vaccine brand and type, dates, vaccination location and possibly batch number on it, as different countries will have different rules for acceptance and for example AZ from Europe isn't equal to AZ from Asia. Usually there are a number of labels on the vial, equal to the number of doses it contains. And they stick one of these labels on the passport. If they are clever, it contains a QR- or other verifiable code.

But as everything else, unfortunately it's not coordinated world-wide, so there are different systems and lots of fakes are circulating already, not boding well for the spread of the virus and our safety...

And can you remember the queues at airports before? Can you envisage the queues in the future when passenger numbers pick up with all the extra checks? Can't wait 😒

It's the same details as the final vaccine  paper from the hospital.

Thanks, pretty standard then and easy to forge unfortunately. Wonder how many foreign immigration staff will spot a fake.

Sorry that you had to have Sinovac 😉

Was a decision I had to make.  They kept pushing AZ, and also called to confirm that I really did want Sinovac.
I did, as China only accepts Chinese vaccines...

I'm sure at some point I'll be offered an AZ booster shot.

Fair enough. The clue is in the username I guess 😂 Love Shanghai, but prefer Shenzhen for electronic shopping. Not for a while though...
