Khunmark Posted December 31, 2024 #567052 Share Posted December 31, 2024 I keep on hearing about this supposed ‘soft power’. Can someone explain to me how the examples given relate to ‘soft power’? Or any type of power for that matter. It seems to me this buzz term has evolved a broad application that have no association with the original meaning. Soft power, is the carrot part of the carrot and stick approach. The belt and road initiative is an example of this. Moo Deng might get a few extra tourist through the door, but has zero influence over external policy likely to effect domestic affairs.
