That 1,700 bill is for the month of November. It is usually between 1,700 and 2k, although it did go to 2200 a few months ago (April) when we had half a dozen fans on the go 24/7. They are all confined to a police holding cell at some point. So what? Drunk and disorderly Thais are mostly sent home, foreigners get an overnight stay. 1 in 100 people detained in a Thai police cell are foreigners. I made that number up but it’s probably close enough. The changes considered aren’t solely for the entitled 1%. Why you insist that the punishment of deprivation of liberty must be compounded with inadequate care & protection is something I don’t care to understand.
