 50 000 people get tested according to the CCSA released numbers a few days ago and of that test group they find 20 000 infections nationwide. Now that infection rate as a proportion of people who were tested is massive. If the government undertook a comprehensive testing regime i.e. 200 000 instead of 50 000 a day, then Thailands daily covid 19 rate would be significantly higher than the 20 to 23 000 daily infections being reported. Surprising that no Thailand News Outlets are willing to grab the Thaiger by the tail and "investigate" the daily numbers being generated by the CCSA. The CCSA states that the infection rate is in decline but the proportion of infected persons and low test rates make that statement very unbeleivable. Come on, quit reporting nonsence press release figures Thaiger....investigate and expose the truth.

And what happens if someone tests (false) positive from their shitty tests, are they shipped off to a hospital or quarantine facility?

Should I worry every time my wife goes to the market that she's going to be shanghaied into some government field hospital?

They will use those tests on the expats to ensure they get some extra Bhats from all the false positives after refusing a retest no doubt.

It's important to understand that even acceptable rapid COVID-19 tests are highly specific but not highly sensitive.  That means there are very few false POSITIVES (~25%), but very many false NEGATIVES, (~50%) . So it's likely that half of the 30,000 "negatives" are actually infected.

The Chinese test predicts an accurate positive only about 30% of the time.

Why are wet markets sources of possible infections and not boxed stores like tesco or lotus???

Pretty sure research showed that infection is less when in open air compared to indoor markets
