The 2 German guys confessed upon legal advice so their sentences were reduced to life. The Pakistani guy pleaded innocent and got the death sentence. If he had pled guilty he likely would have gotten less than life because he co-operated with police. This is why many accused people plead guilty solely to avoid the risk of getting the full sentence from the biased Thai legal system. The Germans will serve a minimum of 8 years, likely transferred to a German prison after 4-5. The other guy probably 12-15 years. Morale of the story - don’t kill people for money.
